Connect Notion

Pages, databases and search from your Notion workspace.

Create the integration

Notion’s keys belong to “integrations” — a small app entry you create once inside your workspace.

  • Visit notion.so/profile/integrations and click “New integration”.
  • Name it “Cortex”, pick your workspace, and keep the type “Internal”.
  • Under Capabilities, enable “Read content” — add “Update content” and “Insert content” if your AIs should write.
  • Copy the “Internal Integration Secret” — that is the token you paste into Cortex.

Share pages with the integration

This is the step everyone misses: a Notion integration sees nothing until you invite it to pages. Open a top-level page or database, click the ••• menu → Connections, and add your Cortex integration. Everything nested underneath is included automatically.

If searches come back empty later, this is almost always why — the integration has not been connected to the pages yet.

Paste it into Cortex

  • Connect AI page → Connected tools → “Connect a tool” → pick Notion.
  • Paste the secret into the “Internal integration token” field and click Connect.
  • Cortex pins the required Notion-Version header for you — nothing to configure.

Confirm it worked

After the tool count appears, ask a connected AI to “search my Notion for <a page you shared>”. If it finds nothing, revisit the Connections step above.
