People / Persona — v1 (Detect & Profile)

Product Development

This roadmap item outlines the development of the initial version of the People/Persona feature, aimed at enhancing Cortex's ability to recognize and profile individuals from notes and connector-synced data. The primary goal of v1 is to implement the "Detect & Profile" functionality, allowing the system to automatically identify names and create persona records without user confirmation for structured data (e.g., Gmail headers, Calendar attendees). The personas will be stored as a new neuron kind, enabling seamless integration with existing infrastructure for search, history, and sharing. The detection process will utilize both structured connector data and LLM NER to identify potential candidates for persona creation, which users can confirm or reject easily. Key features of this release include: Automatic persona creation from Gmail and Calendar data. Candidate identification from note bodies using LLM NER. A unified view of persona records across the app, with visual cues for detected names in notes. An activity timeline and editable persona details, with support for merging and managing duplicates. Future enhancements, such as @mention autocomplete and tone-of-voice AI assistance, will be planned for subsequent phases. This phased approach ensures that foundational capabilities are established before expanding the feature set.

Enhanced Collaboration with Shared Personas

Web· community

I propose a new feature that allows users to create and share personas collaboratively within teams. This enhancement would enable team members to contribute to the development of a comprehensive persona profile, ensuring that all relevant information about a person is captured and updated in real-time. Key features of this idea include: Collaborative Editing: Team members can suggest edits, add tags, and update details on shared personas, fostering a more accurate and holistic view of individuals. Activity Feed: An activity timeline that tracks changes made to a persona, showing who contributed what information and when, enhancing accountability and transparency. Role-Based Access: Control over who can edit or view certain personas based on user roles, ensuring sensitive information is only accessible to authorized team members. Integration with Communication Tools: Seamless integration with existing communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) to notify team members of updates to personas and encourage discussions around them. This feature would not only improve the accuracy of persona records but also enhance team collaboration and knowledge sharing, ultimately leading to better engagement with clients and stakeholders.

The last few things we put into your hands.

Chat surfaces notes alongside clipped content

chat

Chat retrieval now finds your written notes in the same pass as clipped tweets and links — a single unified search across everything you have saved, not separate silos.

Real embed thumbnails in chat citations

chat

Citations in chat now show actual embed previews from your saved links instead of AI-generated placeholder images. What you see in the citation is what is actually on the source page.

Multilingual chat search

chat

Chat now finds matches across languages and runs noticeably faster on small brains. Ask in English and surface relevant Dutch (or any other language) notes without having to re-translate your query.

MCP & chat respect Active Scope

mcp

MCP tools and chat now honor your Active Project/Team scope when reading from the brain. You can also switch scope directly from chat without leaving the conversation.

Tweet detail page with full-text search

twitter

Saved tweets now have a dedicated detail page that renders the full body, and tweet text is indexed for search — so you can find that one quote you saw three months ago.

Note revision history & private working notes

brain

Every neuron now keeps a revision history so you can see how your thinking evolved over time. Each note also gets a private working_notes scratchpad that never appears in chat or search — a place for drafts, todos, and half-formed ideas.

Inline brain filters with segmented date control

brain

The brain page filter bar now renders inline with a segmented date-range control and a project pill — faster filtering, less visual noise, no more nested dropdowns.
